How can we help our leaders acknowledge the harm that was done by the very things that were supposed to "keep us safe"? I don't know specifically which of the pandemic public health measures made for the current disastrous health of children, but any leader willing to ask the tough questions that could bring transparency to this historic peak of childhood respiratory hospitalizations, learning disabilities and mental health problems will need his courage to be supported by us, the people. To deserve such worthy leaders, we will need to individually bravely face how we went along to get along, sometimes even knowingly, and sincerely acknowledge how we harmed our children and each other in the process. We can learn and grow from our mistakes and failures. Will we?
